Engagement portraits and an amazing sunset, what more do you need?!

Loving this beach in Del Mar for engagement portraits...when looking for a beach I try and look for something different.  I want texture, like rocks, cliffs, wooden walk ways, roped off trails, or life guard towers painted in bright colors.  You can find these kind of beaches in San Diego, but you just have to look. Del Mar Dog Beach is a great spot if you can dodge all the dogs out running around! lol!

Carlsbad South Ponto beach is a gorgeous location for portraits of any kind...I just love these from my bridal portrait session with Kate and Cameron!

It's that beautiful time of year when couples in love get engaged!  What's not a better place but the beach at twilight hour to have your engagement portraits done!  Check out these two lovebirds in Carlsbad.

 So these two are just adorable and aren't really engaged but who knows they probably will end up there soon!  ;)  They wanted some photos done together and we choose a pretty spot in Elfin Forest when the sun was going down just at the right time. Loving this light and loving these rural locations in Elfin Forest for photo shoots!

 Lisa & Ed had their engagement portraits done at the Sunset Cliffs which is now my new favorite place for engagement portraits.  How romantic are these photos with this this lovely couple?  I am loving the sunset lit images too!  So much fun!

Sierra & Fred's Engagement Portraits!

These were taken at the Grand Traditional in Fallbrook, CA...an amazing magical setting!  They are also getting married there in December.  It will most likely look the same since San Diego always has amazing weather and is a perfect destination wedding location!

Loved this engagement session in Elfin Forest!  I loved the location, loved the light we had, loved the couple...and love my new photoshop actions!  Ok ok, maybe I went over board in this batch using them...but I had so much fun...so here are my favorites.  Can't wait to photograph their wedding in Temecula in a few weeks!!  Yey!

Engagement Portraits at Del Mar Beach

I love working in San Diego...the weather is unbeatable and you can capture photos like this any time of the year!  Makes my job easy!  Jane wanted some family photos as well...a funny connection happened. Her future mother in law happened to be our labor and delivery nurse for a baby boy born in July!  Lol!

David and Shea

David and Shea make a beautiful couple!  Photographed at the Botanical Gardens in Encinitas!  This is my first time photographing there and it was a lot of fun. It is a huge place with a variety of different plants and backgrounds to work with.  I definitely will be doing more photography at the Botanical Gardens this year.  The wedding will also be at the Gardens in September.  Can't wait!

Tiffany and Dustin

This couple, Tiffany and Dustin, were photographed in the San Elijo Hills, right down the street from my house.  I love this cute little town, it has a lot of charm and it is backed up to canyons and trails.  These photos were taken right off of the town square.  Although this does look like engagement photography, it isn't, they are already married.  Dustin is in the Military and is going to Japan for two years so they wanted some professional photos done of them before he left.  What a great idea!

Rita and Alferdo's Engagement Portraits

Engagement portraits are so much fun!!  Here is a couple, Rita and Alferdo, that was just shoot last week at the Emeryville Marina.  They turned out great, but keep in mind this place is windy and cold!  It's the bay so that is usually a given, but the spot was sentimental to the couple so it made for meaningful engagement portraits.  When photographing couples you want to bring out their connection and some ways to do this is to have them always touching hands, heads leaning in, looking at each other, or arms linked together.
